There is no shortage of protein drinks. Most are built to maximise muscle growth. Few are made with long-term health in mind, and fewer still are something people look forward to drinking. For Youth set out to change that. After close to a year of R&D and seven rounds of samples, the result is The Clear Protein+.
It is a clear, citrus-flavoured recovery drink that combines 17 g of protein, 3 g of creatine and three electrolytes in a single 27 g sachet. Designed to drink after exercise and formulated for warm climates such as Singapore and Malaysia, it launched on 1 October 2026.
It brings three ideas together in one drink.
A clear drink with real flavour. Unlike a traditional protein shake, it pours clear with a light, lemonade-like body. The Lemon Solar flavour leads with lemon, takes its sweetness from pineapple and finishes with ginger. The result is closer to a craft soft drink than a typical protein product.
The post-workout stack in one sachet. Many active adults build their recovery routine from separate tubs of protein, creatine and electrolytes. The Clear Protein+ combines all three in a sachet. With nothing to scoop or shake, it can be mixed and finished before leaving the gym, court or trail. It dissolves quickly even in cold water. At SGD 3.95 per serving, it costs less than the average SGD 5 of buying premium versions of each separately. It also offers creatine without the tub, an ingredient now recognised well beyond bodybuilding for its role in muscle, brain energy and healthy ageing.
A protein formulated for longevity. Most protein drinks are built to maximise muscle growth, typically with whey isolate and high levels of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs). BCAAs drive muscle building by activating mTOR, a growth pathway that, when constantly switched on, has been linked in ageing research to slower cellular repair and recycling. 1 The Clear Protein+ keeps BCAAs deliberately moderate and is instead collagen-led and glycine-rich, supporting muscle and connective tissue without constant growth signalling. It is aimed at active adults who want to keep training into their 40s, 50s and beyond, from runners and lifters to pickleball, tennis and padel players.
All three come together in the moment after training. The Clear Protein+ is made to finish a workout, run, Hyrox session or match, turning recovery into something to look forward to. It can also be taken daily, including on rest days, but it is not intended as a meal replacement.

How the formula works
The product has three active components: a collagen-led protein blend, creatine and a balanced electrolyte trio.
Protein: collagen-led and glycine-rich
The protein blend combines bovine collagen, CollaGEM™ nano collagen peptide, which is fish-derived, and whey protein concentrate. Collagen makes up most of the blend with an added boost of free glycine..
Fewer BCAAs, more glycine
Most protein drinks prioritise whey because it is rich in leucine and supports muscle protein synthesis. The Clear Protein+ still includes whey, but the formula is not built around maximising leucine or total protein.
The formula does not include a separate BCAA blend. The BCAAs come from the protein blend, and each serving contains 1.09 g of them, compared with around 3 to 5 g in whey-isolate-led clear proteins at a similar protein dose. Leucine sits at 0.46 g, below the roughly 2.5 g threshold usually associated with maximising muscle protein synthesis. This is a formulation choice. Methionine is kept moderate at 0.13 g per serving, and lower methionine intake has been associated with longevity in animal models.
"Most protein products are built to maximise BCAAs because they drive muscle growth. For longevity, that approach has a downside. BCAAs activate mTOR, and while that helps muscle, constant activation slows down the repair and recycling processes that keep cells healthy as we age. That is why this formula keeps BCAAs moderate and puts glycine at the centre instead, supporting muscle without constantly stimulating mTOR."
Glycine: a collagen building block that also sweetens
Glycine is one of the defining amino acids in The Clear Protein+, with 5.9 g in each serving. That places it among the highest glycine amounts in any commercial protein drink. Much of it comes from the collagen-heavy protein blend, with an added boost of free glycine.
Glycine is one of the main amino acids found in collagen and contributes to the structure of connective tissues throughout the body. It is also required for glutathione synthesis alongside cysteine and glutamate. 2 Glutathione plays a central role in intracellular antioxidant defence, which is one reason glycine has attracted interest in ageing research. 3
Glycine also plays a role in methionine metabolism, another area of interest in longevity research where amino acid balance matters alongside total protein intake. 4
Glycine is naturally sweet, which gives it another role in the formula. Pineapple juice powder provides natural sweetness, with glycine and a touch of stevia rounding it out. Each serving contains only 0.4 g of sugar and no added sugar.
"There is a reason glycine keeps coming up in longevity research. It touches several of the hallmarks of ageing at once, from collagen production to metabolic health and oxidative stress, and in animal studies it has extended lifespan in both males and females. For an amino acid that is already part of our diet, that is a fantastic set of results. Glycine is one of the more exciting amino acids to watch in the field of longevity science."

Creatine: 3 g of CreHytine™
Creatine has long been associated with strength training, but its role extends beyond the gym.
Creatine helps regenerate ATP through the phosphocreatine system, supporting tissues with high energy demands. Skeletal muscle contains most of the body's creatine stores, while research into creatine also includes brain energy metabolism and cognitive function. 5
Over the past two years, creatine has moved into the routines of women over 30, knowledge workers and people interested in longevity. 6 Research into cognition, mood and bone density in perimenopausal women has drawn much of that attention. Many of these people still do not take creatine. 7
Each serving provides 3 g of CreHytine™ – a micronised creatine monohydrate.
CreHytine™ uses a buffered hydrogel system in which micronised creatine monohydrate and magnesium glycinate are embedded within an acacia gum matrix. The system has three functions. 8
The hydrogel raises the pH around the creatine and protects it from breaking down in stomach acid, which improves bioavailability. The magnesium-hydrogel complex buffers the digestive tract. This may help people who experience stomach discomfort with conventional creatine powders.
The hydrogel also competes with creatine for water binding. This supports hydration balance and lowers the risk of osmotic dehydration, which matters in a drink taken after sweating.
The result is 3 g of creatine in the same clear drink as protein and electrolytes, without a separate scoop or tub.
Electrolytes: moderate sodium, more potassium
Each serving provides 250 mg sodium, 200 mg potassium and 50 mg magnesium.
The levels are calibrated for typical training sessions such as a 45-minute workout, 5 km run or pickleball match, rather than the higher electrolyte requirements of long-duration endurance exercise.
Endurance hydration products often carry 500 to 1,000 mg of sodium per serving. The Clear Protein+ keeps sodium moderate because most diets already deliver more than enough. Potassium gets near-equal billing, at a 1.25:1 sodium-to-potassium ratio against 3:1 to 5:1 in most sports drinks.
The 50 mg of magnesium provides 17% of the nutrient reference value. Magnesium is necessary for normal nerve and muscle function and contributes to a reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
What's left out
The Clear Protein+ contains no:
Added sugar, with 0.4 g sugars per serving
Artificial sweeteners, colours or flavours; stevia is the only sweetener
Maltodextrin, dextrose or glucose syrup
Proprietary blends; every active ingredient is disclosed in milligrams
At 74 kcal per serving, it is a recovery drink that does not undo the workout. A typical post-workout shake delivers around 200 to 300 kcal.
Occasion, taste and climate
Built for the finish
The Clear Protein+ is designed around the moment after training, when the work is done. After a workout, run, hike, ride or racquet-sports match, it pairs recovery with something to look forward to at the end of the session.
A box of 20 sachets covers about a month for someone training four to five times a week. Daily use is also suitable, including on rest days, and the 3 g creatine dose is in line with daily intake.
Taste and texture
Lemon leads, pineapple provides most of the sweetness and ginger comes through on the finish. The drink has a light, lemonade-like body rather than the thicker texture of a milk-based shake.
It dissolves clear in cold water with light stirring, without a shaker.
Serving
Mix one sachet with 400 to 500 ml of ice-cold water. It can also be mixed with chilled sparkling water and stays clear.
Designed for warm climates
The electrolyte levels and citrus-led flavour were developed for post-exercise recovery in hot, humid conditions such as Singapore, Malaysia and Australia.
Individual sachets also suit travel and training away from home.
Frequently asked questions
Is The Clear Protein+ a complete protein?
The blend contains all essential amino acids, and it is collagen-led by design. It is higher in glycine and proline and lower in leucine than whey-isolate drinks.
Why 17 g of protein, when many recovery drinks offer 25 to 40 g?
The drink is meant to complement protein from food, not replace a meal. The formulation prioritises the amino acid profile over the total gram count.
Is the leucine high enough to maximise muscle growth?
No. At 0.46 g, leucine is deliberately below the roughly 2.5 g per meal often cited for maximal muscle protein synthesis.
Those training for maximum muscle gain can pair it with a whey isolate or a protein-rich meal.
Why is the sodium lower than in other hydration drinks?
Higher-sodium products are designed for long endurance sessions and heavy sweat loss. The Clear Protein+ is formulated for typical training sessions rather than endurance-grade sodium loading.
Why use CreHytine™ rather than standard creatine?
Standard creatine monohydrate is effective and well studied. CreHytine™ was chosen for its cold-water solubility, which helps keep the drink clear, and because its hydrogel matrix protects the creatine and is gentler on digestion.
How does the price compare?
At SGD 3.95 per serving, one sachet replaces three products: protein, creatine and electrolytes.
Buying premium versions of each separately costs around SGD 4.50 to 5.50 per serving, before counting the tubs, scoops and shaker. Subscriptions and bundles bring the price down further.
Is the magnesium a clinical dose?
No. The 50 mg dose supports muscle function in a recovery drink. Standalone magnesium supplements typically provide 200 to 400 mg.
Can The Clear Protein+ be taken on rest days?
Yes. Creatine works best with consistent daily intake.
