We sat down with Jeff Duyvesteijn, founder of the Singapore-based longevity brand For Youth, to discuss why he started the company and what it means to truly age well.
I’m Jeff Duyvesteijn, and I started For Youth, a longevity brand based in Singapore. Our goal is pretty simple — to help people stay Unstoppable for Life.
We make science-driven supplements that actually do what they say: support your cells so they can repair, protect, and renew. It’s not about chasing eternal youth; it’s about feeling strong, focused, and capable as you get older.
We don’t just sell supplements; we build products that target how your body ages — starting at the cellular level.
What makes us different is that everything we do starts with science, not marketing. We work with professors from the National University of Singapore and Europe to develop formulations that are properly dosed, batch-tested, and made to pharmaceutical-grade standards in the EU and US.
It’s a clean, modern brand — but beneath the design, it’s serious science.
My journey into longevity started long before For Youth.
I lost my dad to pancreatic cancer when I was still young — and that changed everything. It made me see how fragile health really is, and how much of life we take for granted until something breaks.
Years later, I shattered my femur in an accident. I was told I might not run again — but through rehab, training, and a deeper understanding of recovery, I rebuilt myself. That period gave me a firsthand look at what cellular repair and resilience really mean.
Just before that, I was living in Australia, running eCommerce for a global jeans brand. Then Covid hit. Stores closed, business slowed, and I started questioning what I really wanted to build with my time. So I packed up and moved to Singapore, where my brother lived.
With a small amount of investment from the start-up ecosystem and a big idea, I started For Youth.
So at the end of the day, For Youth grew out of a mix of grief and curiosity — wanting to understand why some people recover faster, age slower, and seem to defy decline. I wanted to take that knowledge and turn it into something practical. Something that helps people protect their health before they lose it.
When I first started looking into supplements, I was honestly shocked at how much noise there was. So many brands were talking about “anti-ageing” — but few could explain how their products actually worked, or show any real testing behind them.
I didn’t want to create another wellness brand built on vague claims. The vision for For Youth was to bring scientific integrity into a space that had lost people’s trust. We wanted to build a brand where every ingredient, every dosage, and every claim could be explained — not just marketed.
And beyond that, I wanted longevity to feel modern and aspirational again. Not about resisting age, but about staying capable, confident, and alive to the fullest.
It started with a simple goal: to make an NMN supplement that actually worked. At the time, most NMN products were under-dosed, unstable, or made without proper testing. I wanted to build something I’d personally take every day — and be proud to share with others.
That’s how The Repair came about — a triple-action NAD⁺ booster combining NMN, apigenin, and pterostilbene. We didn’t just want to boost NAD⁺; we wanted to support the whole repair process inside the cell.
From there, we built the Age Defence System — a holistic framework that addresses the root causes of ageing through three core functions: repair, protect, and cleanse.
Surrounding that core system, we’ve also developed targeted supplements that focus on specific focus areas that act as longevity catalysts — things like better sleep, stronger metabolism, or brain performance.
The idea is that people strengthen their overall cellular health with the Age Defence System range, whilst dialing up their protection and support in targeted focus areas, or ‘risk’ areas, that are most relevant to them and their lifestyle.
Our goal has always been to help people care for their cells with simplicity, rigor and intention. We’re not a grocery store of generic, single-ingredient supplements randomly selling pills to anyone who scrolls past. Our aim is to enable someone to build an effective longevity system that’s intelligently tailored to them.
Working with scientists isn’t a marketing checkbox for us — it’s the foundation of how we build everything.
Our main collaborators, Professor Jan Gruber and Professor Vincenzo Sorrentino from the National University of Singapore, are leaders in longevity and cellular health. They bring the rigour, curiosity, and scepticism that push every formulation beyond surface-level wellness trends.
Every formulation is a collaboration — reviewing the science together, ingredient by ingredient, dosage by dosage. We debate mechanisms of action, bioavailability, and even the traceability of each supplier we choose.
It’s a very hands-on, ongoing process. We’re constantly in discussion — on calls, over dinner, or visiting the labs — brainstorming and validating. Before a new ingredient or formulation ever joins the line-up, we even source the raw materials ourselves and take them for 2–4 weeks to see how we actually feel.
You’d be surprised what we discover in that process! It’s our way of staying close to what we make — not just as founders, but as the first test subjects of our own ideas.
We also work closely with manufacturers in France, where most of our products are produced and tested. Europe has some of the strictest supplement regulatory requirements of any country in the world. Combined with Singapore’s rigour — it gives us something rare: supplements that are both scientifically validated and made to the highest quality.
And honestly, one of my favourite things is that Jan and Vincenzo are genuinely excited to start taking the products themselves as part of their own longevity routines.
Not only is that a huge honour for us, but it shows how real the science is behind what we’re doing.
Quality and dosage are everything. You can have the best ingredients in the world, but if the dosage is wrong — whether it’s too low to work or too high to be safe or sustainable — or if it simply doesn’t contain what it says on the label, it misses the point.
We build every formulation on human data — focusing on what’s actually been shown to work in clinical studies, and matching those dosages as precisely as possible. Wherever we can, we use patented ingredients because they offer consistent quality and often superior bioavailability compared to generic versions.
Another thing we stand by is that bigger isn’t always better. Take The Base, for example. While many brands shout about cramming in as many milligrams of NMN as possible — often ignoring regulatory limits — we’ve kept The Base at 250 mg by design. It’s made for those new to NMN, and many of our customers find they simply feel better at that level.
The Repair, on the other hand, contains 450 mg of NMN — the highest dosage legally permitted in our regions — and is designed for those ready to take things further. But we don’t just increase dosages for the sake of it; every product is built around what’s effective, safe, and actually feels good to take long term.
On the testing side, we take it far more seriously than most brands. Every batch goes through independent lab tests for purity, heavy metals, microbiological safety, and even dosage with key ingredients.
For example, we’ve tested the exact NMN content in every batch since day one, and we publish all our lab results openly on our website so customers can see the data for themselves. It’s costly, but essential.
A recent NUS study found that 15 out of 18 NMN brands tested and sold in Singapore contained far less NMN in them than they claimed — some contained none at all. It’s absolutely shocking!
That’s why integrity matters to us. Testing takes time and money, but it’s the only way to make products we can stand behind, and that people can truly trust.
Yeah, it’s very personal. Don’t Go Quietly came from the idea that ageing doesn’t have to mean fading away. Most people just accept decline as inevitable — less energy, less drive, less passion. But I’ve seen how much of that can be changed when you take care of your body at the cellular level.
Losing my dad so young made me realise how precious time is. And breaking my leg years later — being told I might not run again — showed me how powerful recovery and resilience can be. Both moments shaped how I think about health and how I live my life.
So Unstoppable for Life isn’t a slogan. It’s a mindset — about staying curious, staying active, staying connected. That’s what For Youth stands for. It’s not about pretending to be 25 forever — it’s about refusing to give up on what makes you feel alive.
The biggest thing I’ve learned is that trust takes time — and it has to be earned, over and over again. The supplement industry has a credibility problem: flashy marketing, vague claims, and inconsistent quality. People are right to be sceptical.
I referred to a study earlier showing that most NMN supplements were under-dosed or contained far less than advertised. But it’s not just NMN — customers should be cautious with any supplement, because you never really know what’s inside unless it’s properly tested. That’s why we test every batch, across our entire range.
For us, transparency is everything. We publish our lab reports, we explain why each ingredient is there and at what dosage, and we don’t include anything that isn’t backed by data. We also work closely with scientists, and we take the products ourselves — because if we wouldn’t use it, we wouldn’t sell it.
We never wanted to be seen as “just a supplement brand.” For Youth was built to represent a whole new way of thinking about health — one that’s rooted in longevity science, not wellness trends.
A big part of that is education. We spend a lot of time helping people understand why ageing happens — and how things like cellular repair, protection, and renewal actually work. Once people see the science behind it, they start to look at their own health differently.
The other part is how we behave as a company. We don’t make hype-driven claims, we don’t release products just to fill a shelf, and we don’t hide behind jargon. Every product has a clear purpose in our Age Defence System, or it acts as a catalyst for longevity — whether that’s better sleep, sharper focus, or improved metabolic health.
People can feel when something’s made with intention and integrity. That’s what makes For Youth different — it’s not about selling more; it’s about helping people stay unstoppable for life.
At the end of the day, trust isn’t built through marketing. It’s built when someone tries your product, sees the quality, feels a difference, and realises you’re doing things properly. That’s how For Youth grows — one honest experience at a time.
